Dis a lot of work getting this recert. There are two decks and they are kind of a standard type generation 1 cassette. 2 head and dolby-B manual tape select makes these deck gen 2 see it here
Did just a little test on JVC tape counters which are real time. Found that they are consistant between machines, and relatively accurate in terms of C-90 tapes. I went through the process of recertifying the Akai GXC-40D Cassette deck. Even though this is a Generation 1 deck and is not currently in the system, it is the only deck that is ‘as factory built’ so this ‘recert’ is really only a verification.
Needed to get the Qview Imaging Test written since we have referred to it often in these pages. There is a link to get the product on that page also
